Logan Marshall-Green replaces previously announced Paul Rudd — and Piper Perabo joins the cast — of the MCC Theater reading of Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things June 23.
Original cast member Rudd was announced to reprise his Off-Broadway turn for the reading, but will not be available to perform “due to a last-minute schedule change,” an announcement states.
Carolyn Cantor directs the reading also featuring Anna Camp (The Country Girl, The Scene) and Austin Lysy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Water’s Edge).
This reading of The Shape of Things is presented in conjunction with the current run of LaBute’s reasons to be pretty. The series — which began with a June 9 reading of Fat Pig — spotlights the scribe’s trilogy “exploring America’s obsession with physical beauty.”
Original director Jo Bonney staged the Fat Pig reading with original star Ashlie Atkinson as well as Steven Pasquale and Jessica Capshaw for the.
The readings take place at 7 PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, currently the home to reasons to be pretty.
Piper Perabo, Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski and Pablo Schreiber star in pretty. Terry Kinney directed the production, which plays through July 5.

Reasons to be Pretty will be moving on to Broadway. The play will get his Broadway debut next winter when Reasons to be Pretty transfers to the Great White Way. Performances will begin on February 13, 2009, at a theater to be announced.
